Ok, it not a car museum, but it is transportation! This was a tour organized by the Kansas City MG Club. Normally people aren't allowed in the control tower, but someone got the permission to take a tour of it.

Cars at the Imperial Palace Museum in Las Vegas

This is the most fabulous car museum I've ever been to. Even my wife liked it! It's located in Danville, CA not to far from Oakland. Definately worth the trip.

The Petersen Museum is located in Los Angeles. It was started by Robert Petersen of Hot Rod Magazine fame. It's a great museum and has many changing exhibits, so you have to go more than once.
